From time to time people ask us “What do you guys do with all those wood scraps and sawdust?”

Well the answer is simple and yet surprising. We sell it! Well… we don’t sell the scraps we turn the smaller scrap wood into other products. Whether it be a game or a small part to another larger product we constantly find uses for our left over pieces from larger projects.

As for the very very tiny scraps or the sawdust… we compost it. Sawdust and woodshavings make wonderful organic compost and this goes right into our very own garden to help produce tasty corn, mouth watering watermelons and juicy, red ripe tomatoes.

Despite the amount of processing that our we do in our shop to turn a rough cut board into a beautiful gift or work of art, we utilize every little piece and we generate very very little trash.

Just another benefit to products made of organic, renewal resources!

Did you know that Countryside Gifts LLC not only sells products made from green, natural and renewable resources but even our shipping and packing materials are made from recycled products? It’s True!

Yes we utilize new, clean boxes and packing but all of our boxes and packing materials have been made from recycled products. Boxes, wrapping, packing peanuts… all are made from recycled items and can in themselves be recycled again! By utilizing packing materials made from recycled items we help to cut down on the amount of waste and brought new life to items that would have otherwise ended up in landfills. And that helps provide a cleaner environment!
