Company & Production

Where are your products made?
Every product on our site was 100% hand-crafted in the USA by Countryside Gifts LLC. We only purchase wood, parts and other materials from other businesses located in the United States. We believe in buying local and we get all of our supplies from local USA based businesses. Supplies, paints, glues, etc are all manufactured in the USA. Wood is purchased via local lumberyards. Most is harvested in the USA but some specialty exotic woods are imported through our local lumber vendor.

Who really makes these items?
We do! Every item for sale on our website has been hand-made by us, right here in the USA.
Are you really making these items by hand or do you use CNC or Laser cutting machines?
No! We do not use Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) or Laser cutting machines. Every item we make is made the old fashioned way—by hand. Yes we do use modern power tools (such as bandsaws, planers and sanders), but each cut and each part is made by hand, assembled by hand and finish sanded smooth by hand. We do not use robots or computers.
Do you outsource or use mass-production?
No! Everything is hand-made and each item is unique. No two items are exactly alike. We do not outsource our production nor do we produce items on a mass scale. CNC and Laser cutting type machines are also not part of our building process. Each item is designed, cut, sanded, assembled and finished by hand from start to finish all in our wood shop.
Are any of your products Kits? Do you simply assemble them?
Absolutely not! The overwhelming majority of our products are based off of designs that we created. A few products are designed or inspired from from designs for which we have secured the rights to create items from. In all cases, nothing we sell is made from a pre-made kit that we simply assemble and resell. Every part of every item is handmade from raw wood and is meticulously assembled by hand.

Products, Materials & Finishes

What type of wood do you use?
We use a variety of woods in our products. Some products are made completely from softwoods such as as pine or fir. Others are made from a combination of softwoods with hardwood accents such as oak, maple, poplar, birch or cherry. Still other products are made completely from hardwoods which include both domestic, imported and exotics. We use only the finest parts of wood and all wood that we use is preservative free.
Are your woods harvested from managed or sustainable forests?
The majority of our woods brands we utilize are harvested using Sustainable Forestry Practices and certified by the Sustainable Forestry Initiative®.
What type of glues do you use?
Most of our products are held together using high strength construction-grade carpentry wood glue. This non-toxic, water-based glue is very strong and in many cases is stronger then the actual wood itself.
What type of paint, finishes or stains do you use?
We sell many different products and depending on the intended use of each item, a different type of finish is used. Likewise, different types of finishes are used on items depending on the look that our customers want to see. All finishes that we use are safe when cured and all products are cured well in advanced of their shipping. It is also worth noting that we only utilize paints, stains, dyes and finishes manufactured in the USA.

Children's Products:
No stains or paints are used on any product that is intended to be used by children (such as toy cars, trucks, blocks, etc.) On some select items natural, organic, non-toxic and environmentally friendly Bee's Wax is hand-rubbed onto the item. This creates a "soft" silky-smooth feel to the item while not being sticky, greasy or slippery. Other items are left completely natural an no Bee's Wax is applied.

Decorative Items & Detailed Models:
Products that are intended to be placed on display such as wood turnings, photo frames, model cars and trucks, boxes, outdoor items, etc. may use a variety of finishes. These finishes typically are selected based on the intended placement (such as an outside item which requires a protective weather-resistant finish) or the desired look or feel customers prefer (such as a high-gloss finish on a wood turning or box). Typically these items are finished with either a natural oil finish such as Shellac or Tung Oil, an acrylic such as polycrylic, or oil based finish such as polyurethane. These types of finishes create a "wet" look to the wood, bringing out the natural beauty while providing a hard, protective coating against dust some airborne moisture and fingerprints. Items that are painted such as decorative wall hangings may be painted with either acrylic or oil-based paints.

Stock & Custom Orders

Are the items in stock or made once ordered?
With the exception of special order, custom and bulk-quality items, we typically have multiples of each item in stock. Our website keeps track of our inventory so as you order you will be able to see if we have the desired number of items in stock. If you would like to order a large number of items or if our website says there are not enough items in stock, please feel free to contact us so we can possibly create additional items for you.
Do you accept special orders?
Yes! We will be more then happy to talk to you about customizing an existing one of our products or building something totally unique for you. We have designed items based on the needs of clients whom have contact us. We can customize an item to your needs or can simply handcraft an item we already sell and apply a different color, finish etc. Please contact us with your needs and specifications.
Can I purchase your items in bulk?
We sell some items in bulk for the purposes of craft parties, art projects, etc. Bulk items are a special order item and are shipped sanded smooth but unfinished so they can be painted, finished or just enjoyed in their natural state. You may take a look at out Bulk Buy Section or you may contact us for custom inquiries if you do not see the item you want seen there.

Online Store & Purchasing

Will I be getting the item in the photograph?
Possibly! We photograph the actual products going to be sold and randomly choose one of the items from our stock and photograph it. It is possible that you receive the item that was in the actual photo. On items that are listed as One of a Kind (OOAK), such as a wood turning, wooden box, etc. the item in the photo will be the actual item you will receive. If the item in the photo will be the actual item received, there will be a note in the product's description conveying this information.
Will my item look like the one in the photograph?
Yes! All of our items are handmade so no two are the same, but your item will look very similar to the item in the photo. That being said, please understand that wood by its nature has unique grain design and patterns in it and this will differ slightly from item to item. But you don't need to worry about unsightly knots and grains, we use only fine grade wood.
Are the dimensions of the items accurate?
Some of the dimensions are rounded and since each item is handmade, the exact measurements vary from item to item slightly. We arrive at the published dimensions by averaging dimensions on multiple items. Usually these don't vary by more then about 1/16" of an inch. We also round to the nearest 1/4" when publishing the dimensions. So if an item is 10-3/8" long we will publish it at 10-1/2" long.
I found a misprint in price, description or photo?
We make every effort to endure the accuracy of our products but it is possible for a misprint to arise. We reserve the right to refuse or refund a sale for an item that was mispriced. If this happens we may offer a special discount for the inconvenience but we reserve the right to cancel a sale for an item listed at the wrong price.

Designs & Plans

Who owns the designs of your products? / Can I get a plan for one of your designs?
Most of our products are original designs of Countryside Gifts LLC and this they are owned and copyrighted to us. We do not sell our designs and no copies of our plans are available. Only the final, finished product is available for sale. Also please note that since the design is owned by us, prucahsing an item and copying it's design is against copyright law.

Wholesale & Mass Production Inquiries

Do you offer wholesale pricing or drop shipping?
At this time no. We do offer some items in a special bulk price but we do not offer wholesale options or the ability to drop ship. We are sorry.
Are you interested in having your items produced overseas?
No! We keep getting asked this and the answer is no. We are a small handcrafted gifts and collectibles business based in the USA. We have no desire to mass produce our items and having them manufactured outside the USA by machines is completely the opposite of the idea of American Made, Handcrafted Items.

Marketing, Media Kits & Photos

I own a blog, website, magazine, etc and would like to feature your product. Can I get a photo?
Yes. We have media kits available for that purpose. Please do not lift, copy or hotlink to photos from our main website. We will be more then happy to provide you with a permission-granted image to use for your purposes.
